Matariki (mid-winter ) Sheep
Matariki is the Maori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. It rises in mid-winter and is celebrated at this time of the year in New Zealand. Matariki literally means "LittleEyes"
Today was a typical mid-winter's day, cold, grey and drizzley and I was compelled to stop the car and photograph these sheep who appeared to be looking intently with their little eyes at something as I passed them.
I added the starry overlay to enhance the Marariki effect.
