HH victorious!

Today a club member sponsored a tournament, followed by a barbecue, to celebrate his birthday. Teams of three members and one caddie (HH's team was the exception, with two caddies - I was whisked out at the last minute to play with the caddie who was largely instrumental in my winning the previous week's competition).

HH made it round all 18 holes - first time since his operation - and his team won the day. He tells me that he contributed very little to their victory, but I think hanging in there for 18 holes is a victory in itself. Marcio, in the picture with him, is our very favourite caddie and a good friend - I'd adopt him if he wasn't a bit old for it! He works full-time as a carpenter, and unlike most of the other caddies, doesn't get a chance to play on Mondays, but he still plays a mean game of golf.

Our team tied for 2nd place and I was pleased with the way I played (100% due to coaching by the caddie in our group), but we lost on the last 9, after our 4th player abandoned us to care for his 1-year-old. We only did so well because all of us except the caddie were playing of ridiculously high handicaps!

HH did a lot of snoozing on the sofa in the evening -wonder why...
