The Big Cruise Day 22: Where it all begins
In themselves, Horseshoe Falls are only 'spectacular' in a very minor way. But the remote setting has a great charm and tranquility and well worth the two mile walk from the boat, alongside the un-navigable section of the canal.
It is the place where some of the water from the River Dee is diverted from this horseshoe-shaped weir and into the channel in the foreground of the picture to begin its 45 mile journey along the canal to the reservoir at Hurleston, near Nantwich.
[Explanation: Big Cruise Blips begin on 9th April (where there's an introduction) and last nearly 8 weeks with a break in the middle. I am catching up with the back-blipping]
