Great Crested Grebe
I decided to visit Lackford Lake after work this afternoon and what a feast for the eyes and camera I had there. This is a Great Crested Grebe, usually a very shy bird, that I caught unawares as he came up from a dive, the closest I've actually been to one.
My extra is of the Little Egret, which was just outside one of the hides by the lake. I wasn't lucky enough to see the Kingfisher, perhaps next time, but there were some Cormorants and a number of waders too.
The flora is beautiful at the moment and I could have shown numerous wild flowers and bushes in flower.
I will return in the not to distant future.
