Motley Crew

This morning we were up early to collect Laura & Steve to join 85,000 other people at Download festival.

It's been a cold, sometimes wet day, but really good fun.

I wouldn't want to stay for the 3 days as that would require camping (and a second mortgage to pay for it all). I don't do camping.
This was my first ever festival, so I was excited just to be a part of it.

Mr A and I parted ways shortly after arrival as he wanted to see one of his favourite bands 'Godsmack'.
The three of us opted to watch 'The Darkness' instead. What as waste of time!

They were playing inside tent which was packed, as was the outside. From our faraway position it sound like a pub singer stepping on a cat. Some may argue this is Justin Hawkins at his best, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt ;-)

After 10 mins of that, we gave up and went to see who was on the main stage; it was a band called 'Blackberry Smoke' and they were really good couldn't really be worse than The Darkness really.

We reunited with Mr A after that, he'd enjoyed his band and bumped into a couple of pals from home.

Billy Idol was next up, this was the highlight for me but not for the others. He was great and not on long enough for me, but enough to belt out most of the old favourites (white wedding, rebel yell) and a couple off the new album (which I highly recommend).

Mötley Crüe followed and this was the band we all wanted to see.....they were AWESOME! Their set flew by but luckily they're touring later this year so we will hopefully get tickets to see them.

Kiss was the headline act. I'm not a fan but wanted to see them, just to be able to say that I have.

I'll add photos to Flickr tomorrow of all the bands we saw.

Today's blip is of our 'Motley crew' with Mötley Crüe in the background.
