Machair and birds

A trip to North Uist and Balranald Nature Reserve. The machair was more developed here as on South Uist it was only just beginning to come out. This is a selection of the tiny flowers growing in a mass along the sandy shoreline.

There lots of birds around including corn bunting (my first sighting) and turnstone. Both pictured in the extra photos.

The reserve had white beaches, and a rocky landscape that made for a great walk.
