After the Fires....Banksia menziesii

This Banksia is showing very healthy signs of recovery from recent fires that ravaged a lot of the natural bush land in Bold Park, just West of Perth.

The Banksia is half way through flowering. The individual flowers at the bottom have already opened, while those at the top are unopened and remain in neat rows

Banksia menziesii provides food for a wide array of animals; birds and in particular honeyeaters are prominent visitors.

I have visited the site a few times since the fires and it is so good to see the recovery that is being made.
