Lake Orta

Leaving Lake Maggiore to return to Lake Como we stopped by Lake Orta. Less well known than its bigger neighbours the town of Orta San Giulio is very pretty.

We stopped here for a few hours. While we were there a wedding was taking place and the bride and groom were having their photograph taken around the town. Two professional photographers were recording the event, but many more, guests and otherwise, were capturing the event.

Got back to Lenno late afternoon. We were slightly surprised when the satnav decided we should return via Switzerland, but I suppose the satnav knows best. We came back into Italy at Chiasso following the same route we had taken when we arrived a few weeks ago. I took the opportunity to buy petrol as I think it is cheaper in Switzerland, though I don't know for sure whether this is true.
