For some reason when they were doing our pavements they arranged it so there was a slope from the road down to the pavement

Additionally the downpipes from the front of the houses all run out onto the pavements

So as sson as there is any sort of rain, the pavements become filled with water - sometimes to ankle level. Nice.

Yesterday I had to go out to the post office and although it's probably a round trip of no more than a mile, by the time I got back I was soaked to the skin. And the pavements were awash
