Mela
Today I took the train into Glasgow to meet Four Story and we lunched at The Scullery, a relatively new restaurant in Finnieston. It lived up to expectations, and we will return. Extra picture posted.
Then we had a wander around the west end. We passed the Gurwara Singh Sabha, the Sikh temple currently nearly complete, and were amazed by the beautiful stone used to build it, and the quality; it is almost like tile, it is so smooth. It is a huge building, and I believe will be used for a lot of community concerns as well as for worship. Very impressive. Have posted an extra picture of the dome.
Then we continued along to The Kelvingrove Art Galleries, and were lucky enough to be in time to see a performance by some dancers from the Mela which is taking place today and tomorrow in Glasgow. The Mela has been taking place for about twenty five years now and celebrates Asian culture in Glasgow. The dancers were beautiful, and their dresses are just gorgeous.
Wandered up Byres Road, and visited a few shops, and found the perfect gift that I needed. And then had coffee...... before catching a bus back to the centre of the city and the train home.
Always great to wander with Four Story.
Sadly we have lost our hot weather, it was about ten degrees colder today, and dull. Ach well!
