Mothly it's been good on Skye
The weather, while often grey, has been on our side, with just a few showers to contend with; there's been about 30 miles of walking; some decent wildlife (though the shots I wanted eluded me); and any shopping trips were particularly successful. Then last night I got laid low by 'something' (hence posting this a day late), and spent most of the night half dozing on the living room floor when I should have been packing.
Mel didn't have a Florence Nightingale hat, so instead lectured me on eating Pringles, blaming the sudden illness on either that, or heat stroke from the day before (covering a variety of bases). This morning appears to be mostly dehydration taking hold, so packing can begin, then wasting time on the island food shopping and a couple more galleries, then hopefully decent weather to take the Kylerhea - Glenelg ferry to get to holiday home no. 2.
Oh, and this is, I think, a Northern Eggar. Huge, furry, face looked like the Donie Darko mask, but cute, and clinging for dear life to some twigs near Greshornish Point, a walk we headed out on (me feeling fine you see) after I'd recovered my GPS (after bombarding Raasay FB pages I got a message from someone that her brother in law had found it, and could give it to the vet, who was on the island overnight, who would be back in Portree the following day - I really do love the islands).
Now, let's get a cup of tea and see if I can remember to take everything.
