Can this be summer?

It's been a great day, mainly thanks to blue skies, sunshine and 23 degrees. I may have been unwise - despite sunscreen I might have overdone it. The bracken is thinking it is warm enough to unfurl. I took this on my walk over the moor to take some lunch to Ailie who us recovering from getting a new hip.

I had my first ever swimming lesson today - there was no pool within 50 miles when I was a child, so I learned to swim, sort of, in a stream. But I've always been scared to put my face in the water, and when I've tried to snorkel - Red Sea, Vietnam and Great Barrier Reef, I've panicked when water got in the tube. Today I made it across the width of a pool with my face in the water, eyes open, and coming up to breathe through my mouth. I'm feeling quite pleased with myself. I have to practice this for next week when I go out of my depth.
