Welcoming Summer!
The grass has been cut and the garden is beginning to look lived in.
It only took a couple of weeks of allowing the grass to grow after the lawn had been treated with a fertilizer and heaven knows what might have chosen to move in.
I had in mind the last time the grass was that long, and we discovered a rabbit had moved in and was happily thriving in the long grass. And then on a separate occasion there were ducks!
So this time we were determined not to let the long grass get on top of us. And although we had some help, to be honest it didn’t take long to get the back lawn back in an orderly shape.
True, there is still quite a bit of tidying up to do, but it is beginning to look hospitable for us to welcome the long hazy days of summer and hopefully the opportunity for a refreshing glass of G&T or a chilled Chablis come the balmy summer evenings.
Well. Finger’s crossed, and we live in hope!
