La Laguna at Pie de la Cuesta

This is what was on the other side of the road from our hotel and the beach.

Very impressive and beautiful. We kayak'd out to the Mangrove swamp (directly under the sun) from the pier in the photo. Seemed like a great idea at the time.

But we were a very uncoordinated and unfit kayaking team and it was quite the comical struggle getting across the relatively small stretch of water. Lots of, "No, do this!", "No, stop", "You're splashing", "Stop hitting my paddle!", etc.

It wasn't helping that I was trying to take photos as well and changing lenses in the process. Most inadvisable!

But we survived and the aches only lasted a few days!!

After a hearty breakfast, we were back on the road heading back to Mexico City via Acapulco. A fairly uneventful trip back, as they tend to be.

I did discover, however, that it is easier to watch an Adam Sandler film w/no sound on. Not easy, just easier!
