A snail's pace

Yesterday I saw both a snake and a toad squashed on the roadway.  I was good, therefore, to see this healthy fellow on the path when I went to do the last bits of shopping before starting the journey northwards tomorrow.  There is not much else to do besides a last French conversation class and badminton.  I hope some of you can rustle up some reasonable summer weather so the shock to my system is not too great!
