Sgwarnog: In the Field

Clouded Yellow

The Clouded Yellows are generally very active, but I saw this one go to ground in the scrub and after careful stalking managed to get close enough for a picture. A feat I didn't manage in Menorca a couple of years ago, which was the last time I saw any.

There were too many creatures to choose from today so the extra photos come in handy (click thumbnails bottom right):  bright blue Forester moths, giant bush crickets, delicate Cleopatra and Wood White butterflies. And today's view from the pool: a solar halo.

We dined next to the beach, at Gratsiella I think, and today's exploration of Greek vegan cuisine extended to Risotto Napoletana, reflecting the proximity of the heel of Italy just across the water.
