Around Pune

Today there are no classes or practice hours at the Institute, so I went with four other yogis on a Pune Heritage Tour that took us to sites of historical interest. This picture shows a vendor outside a Shiva shrine selling the offerings people take in to leave in front of the idol. In the busier shrines and temples, someone removes the offering almost as soon as it's set down to make room for the next one. At one of the bigger temples we walked by, there was a sign to direct traffic (see additional photo).

After the tour, as we poked around the side streets that each specialize in different products (bamboo, bangles, and rain gear, to name a few), we found a place that sells mosquito netting. This must have been the "stuff for your bedroom" lane. I bought a twin-sized net and some tape and came home and made a screen for one of my windows. Ah... To be able to sleep with my window open will be a treat, especially when it rains.
