Toodle's Rose
The first rose of the season. These pink roses clamber over the fence that separates the field from the garden. They share the space with some gorgeous white clematis (yet to bloom).
When we had miniature donkeys, one of them -- Toodle -- could always be found at this time of year munching on the flowers on her side of the fence with the most blissful expression on her face. Now, whenever I see those pink and white blooms, I think of her.
