Mini Quackers....

The other clocking duck (the one who's eggs the crows and badger didn't eat) managed to hatch out these 2 wee ducklings this morning.
Went down to St Boswells to the sale of Luing cows and calves. Bid for one ,but didn't get her. Any thing I liked,I couldn't afford. And any thing I could afford, I didn't like !
Still blowing a gale today,with some blustery showers. It was hard going driving the landrover and trailer-it has the aerodynamics of a breeze block.
Back home to real life again. 1 cow calved,not sure if it has sucked. Another one was busy calving,so had to give it a wee pull. When I checked her a couple of hours later,the calf hadn't sucked and was a bit chilled,so had to bring it in and milk her out and feed it.
This is meant to be summer,not weather for calves getting hypothermia !
Another fortnight and the nights will start drawing in again !
