Holiday Nostalgia

As regular readers of this journal will know, Knottman is something of a classical music fanatic. So much so that it has been known for Mrs. K.to ask politely whether the volume could be turned down a bit. And indeed a few favourites like Mozart Quintets and Haydn's Cello Concert will be making the trip on the forthcoming holiday.

But Knottman's musical tastes are wide and in his declining years he has developed enthusiasm for many of the songs which were so much enjoyed in the 40's, 50's and early 60's. Holidays with many miles on French AutoRoutes seem an appropriate time for some nostalgic singing along which I may also have to turn down a bit.

Thus in this morning's post two box sets have arrived. In total 150 songs. And it is amazing just how many of the words of them will come back to the memory. And as a bonus it is remarkable how little such cultural riches cost.
