Shibdon Pond

Shibdon Pond and Nature Reserve is jammed between the busy A1 and Blaydon. It was surprisingly peaceful, lots of birdsong with the hum of traffic in the background. Good paths and a hide for those who have a key, which my friend had. We saw a good number of birds and heard a lot more. I was struck by these bulrushes, not seen them in such profusion before.
