End of a long but very busy and enjoyable week. I woke up in the peace and beauty of rural Yorkshire, in beautiful clear weather, where I have been testing the new Volvo XC90. Here it is outside the lodge in The Rural Retreats centre where the launch event was staged.

A phone call home revealed that the overnight weather was not quite so good in Kent. Violent thunderstorms in the early hours were a sleep disturbance, I heard. They were also blamed for the late departure of my flight south from Leeds-Bradford airport.
