15 Years today

It's 15 years today that my mother passed away from cancer.

This photo of her was taken in the mid to late 1950's, so she would have been in her mid twenties I would say (she was born in 1933).
She was a Geordie, from Bythe UK, who moved to NZ with her family in 1949, at the age of 16.

She died nearly exactly a year after being diagnosed with cancer.

For years after she died, I used to dream that she would come to visit me, & I would think "wow, they gave her a year, but she's still with us after all this time". Then I'd wake up.

I still miss her, and my father, who died in 2003.
