Finishing Funnel

Because the weather tonight was so much better !!!! (who am I trying to kid!!) I made the last minute decision to go and do a local race.  Paddy's Pole from Fell Foot near Chipping is short at 6km with 336 meters of ascent which begins as soon as you set off.
It wasn't raining (at the start) but the wind was battering us all the way round and I got caught in a sudden downpour on my way back from the summit.
The picture shows a runner unzipping his jacket to show his race number as he comes through the hastily erected finishing funnel.  By contrast the girl in the background ran round in just a vest.  I had 3 layers on, all of them thin I might add!
I went straight home for my tea after the race rather than going to the pub so I will have to wait for the official results to be published to see if I was anywhere near last years time for the race.
