The Berry Cart
As strawberries begin to come in for the season I figured that I had better get a picture of some of them before I forget about it. So at work one day I decided to get some pictures, but I think this one is probably the funniest. We used to go pick up the strawberries from the fields where the pickers were and bring them in my tractor. About a year or two ago my grandfather bought this golf cart. Of course it didn’t have to be a regular golf cart; we had to build a box for the back of it. Now it is used as a multi-purpose vehicle, and we often refer to it as the farm’s “Willy’s Jeep”. My pap immediately was excited and began to think of all of the things that he could do with it. One weekend morning I went to the farm and began to get on one of the tractors when pap came over to me with a smile and said we wouldn’t need it. So I walked down to the barn where we would be sorting strawberries and a few minutes later he showed up with a load of six carriers. Now this is all that we use to bring strawberries from the field to the store, as well as cherries, and any other fruit pap can figure out how to fit in it.
