Geo-Woodstock Event
This picture was taken by my friend Ron Fulmer. He, along with some of his friends, owns a film making business. They shoot movies and take pictures and edit them until they have something that they like. Ron is also a Corporal in our reenacting unit. This was taken at an event just south of the Antietam Battlefield at something called Geo-Woodstock. It was a large gathering of people for geocaching which is like a GPS version of a scavenger hunt. We were there to basically give people something else to see while they were passing by. Small events like this are fun because we can do more fun things. For example, here I am shooting off my musket for the first time all year. Usually in reenacting we feel lucky to get a picture with a little bit of flame coming out of the muzzle of a cannon. It is extremely rare that a picture captures the flames from a musket, especially one with as much flame that is here. Ron could only do this with a rapid fire lens and even then the chances are few and far between. He sent me this picture after he got home from the event and said he didn’t have to change anything except put his signature at the bottom.
