Wall Hanging in Layers of Silk.
Several classes in our Neighbourhood Centre, each made a panel for a wall hanging, depicting their particular interests. An instructor came to visit and showed us how to cut and stitch very fine silks in assorted colours, layer upon layer. With a little trepidation we drew our templates and this is the result.
From the left...The handprints were from the toddlers class. Next, the mothers and babies get-together. Then comes the one I made, showing the Country and Western dance class I organised. At the bottom are the boots, with cactus, and coyotes howling at the moon, the dancers at the top. Next along are figures from the Life Drawing class, their templates being very well drawn of course. Finally the logo of the Circle Dancing class. When we had made our panels, they were all stitched together by our instructor and made into this colourful wall hanging.
