Gorges de Verdon

aka Le Grand Canyon

We cycled about 30 miles in total today to see the Route des Cretes in extremely hot and hilly conditions.  However,  the scenery was well worth it with dramatic sheer cliffs and wildlife.

This was taken towards the end of the day when I persuaded Technophobe to turn down a road into the ravine.  Unfortunately it was the steepest road we attempted and of course ' What goes down must come up ...' so TP was not best pleased.

PS I've changed the picture after being asked to by TP.  It's because we both want to know what this bird is.  There were lots of them flying around and it was enormous.   I've put the original shot as my 'extra'

Can any of you clever birding blippers identify it please?
