The lonely larch
With a yellow weather warning still in place for Cumbria today - when we woke & saw blue sky it was a quick breakfast and up onto the tops.
It really does feel like we're approaching the start of Spring rather than Summer - but wrapped up warm after the first couple of miles the wind became bracing rather than chilling!
Pushka goes nuts up on the moors - so much to sniff & see - it's one of the reasons we love it up there so much - but another is this view. The Howgills make a superb backdrop to watch the weather play across - their rounded hulking shapes looming out of the low cloud today - patterned by shadows on other days - they offer a view that hasn't lost any appeal in the fifteen years we've now lived here.
& then of course there's my favourite windswept tree - but as the weather turned, and the rain arrived we decided that the tree could wait for another day & us and pooch would head for home.
