Our next door neighbour ...

We strolled through the Fairgrounds earlier on our walk.  It's quiet now but it can be a very busy spot on certain weekends.  In 2 weeks the event will be the "Relay for Life" were many families gather for an all nighter and walk the track for 12 hours.  The symbolism is the fight one endures when diagnosed with cancer, ...  a dark and painful fight that hopefully ends with the morning light.  Families remember loved ones gone as well as loved ones who have won and still those who are fighting the battle.  My Dad succumbed to cancer and my wife is a 30 year survivor.  
My extra is Daisy.  She is 12 and still a bit feisty but nonetheless very friendly.  Sad to see them starting to limp and lose their mobility.  Her puppy buddy, a chocolate lab was out for a walk with his owner.
