One species each day (from my backyard)
This plant has survived at least the 15+ years of neglect since we've been here apart from weeding the grass and other stray plants within it's close vicinity. It's growing on the edge of a gravel path and never gets watered. When the sun's low like now, it gets sunlight only late in the afternoon. It has straggly inflorescences with a few tiny flowers at the tops. I took this photo, expecting it would be an easy one to identify, but I haven't had much luck so far. It's a Thymus sp., but I can't find anything on the internet or in our books that has similar inflorescences as this plant, but I'll post it at Thymus vulgaris untill anyone sets my in a better direction.
