Cercopis Vulnerata (Backblip)

Apparently this is a type of 'Froghopper' ...... but not just the 'common' one!!!!

We actually went for a walk (in between the showers). It kept trying to rain on us but it was only a few drops. Saw these on a leaf & after much research a quick look in my book I managed to identify them.

Quote 'Distinctive, shiny red and black froghopper. Found resting on low vegetation & jumps well to escape danger.'

I assume they were asleep as they didn't leap off when I was photographing them :-)
