An Old Airman's Life

Sergeant Peavy

Walked Buddy about 15:00 this afternoon.  It was getting pretty hot.  The crowd from one graduation was leaving and another was taking their  place.Sgt Peavy, one of the school's ROTC instructors walked by.  He said he spent 20 years on active duty and was now proudly  serving the youth of the high school.  The rifles were for  the ROTC Honor  Guard.  What a pleasure to talk to this man.

I had intended to talk a shot  or two during the morning walk, but I had fiddled around to much making breakfast and doing Sudoku  puzzles.  Buddy barely  had time to do a lap around the park.

I had also intended to take my camera when Debbie and I went to the First North Texas Food Truck Festival.  The Shriners were hosting the event.  All  the proceeds went to the Shriner's Hospital.  One of our  daughters had two major hip surgeries at that hospital in Dallas.  I remember how blessed I felt knowing she was being seen by some of the best of the best doctors and nurses.
