New lens image
A few days ago an old colleague emailed me to tell me a relation of his was selling his camera equipment to move on to micro 4/3 format. Amongst the items being sold was a Canon 100mm Macro L IS - a significantly better lens than my current, but trustworthy and well used standard USM version. I have had some great images from this lens, so, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to obtain a mint condition lens of this quality and known provenance. With a couple of hours spare, I jumped in the car, Gail's that is - got to travel in style :-) and drove over to Boston to collect the lens.
Back home, walk the dog and a bite to eat before I had chance to get a few shots and this is one of the first out the can. Taken at 8pm, overcast and darkening quickly, it was a big ask to a handle shot like this. I had a repeat of last nights image which is truly stunning considering I had applied only a bit of sharpening as opposed to last nights that had a bit of jiggery-pokery done to it. I've not worked out how to add additional shots - can anyone tell me? I think I'm being dense - am sure it will be obvious but I can't see it.
Anyway, I'm already looking forwards to giving the new lens some challenges....
