Maybe This Time

You know that this is my first year of success with Alliums.  But I have another nemesis ..... papaver!!  Every year , one miserable solitary poppy, flopping after a day; hopeless!

Last year I planted a second poppy beside the poor one in the hope that they would be happy together:  now I have five huge buds about to open!!! Could this be the time of the poppy in the cottage garden?  Count not your chickens.
