Flying High

Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee - Day 4
So worn out from the weekends Jubilee celebrations, we mutually decided as today would be much the same as Trooping the Colour, which we hope to see in 2 weeks time, we would catch up on a couple of hours sleep and stroll into town mid morning.
Obviously, we not up anywhere near early enough to manage to get a good spot on The Mall for the carriage procession, balcony appearance and fly past today, yet amazingly we did manage to get the second row on Whitehall for the procession.
The fervent flag waving and raised iPhones as the horse drawn carriages passed put paid to anything blipable and as it took the best part of 45 minutes to get through the crowd from Whitehall to the Mall, we were too far back to see the balcony appearance so no photos there either.
Flags and iPhones cut across most of the flypast photos too, but I think in some ways, this captures the wonderful atmosphere.
Despite the rain and lack of anything great photographically, it was a really fun day out with friends and a great end to a fabulous Jubilee weekend.
