Not Mint Green...

I had hoped to photograph my mint plant for the maymacromayhem challenge but alas it is a tad slow this year and not worth photographing as yet.  Instead you get a different leaf entirely.  Still green though :-)

Trying to get things finalised for our holiday in France.  Turns out the house we're renting with the "downstairs bedroom and bathroom suitable for the mobility impaired" isn't quite as disabled friendly as we thought, despite me telling them before booking it that Alan is a wheelchair user.  

We've only now discovered there's a step down into his bedroom and a step down into the loo and shower room.  Also the door to the downstairs bedroom is only 63cm wide.  His wheelchair is 60cm wide so we are hoping he will fit through!

We had also hoped to hire a portable hoist from a local pharmacy near the house but that's proving troublesome in that we're not sure the sling for Alan's hoist will be compatible with the rented one, so rather than take the risk, we're going to have to lug the portable hoist with us too.  We're not even 100% sure that the hoist and Alan will both fit in the car at the same time as last year Ele and Kenny took the hoist in their car, as we were only going to Cornwall.  This year they're flying to France so them taking the hoist isn't an option.

Even the car rental for Alan's support workers is proving a challenge due to change over of his support workers after a week and changes to the law on drivers licenses.

There is so much to organise for going on holiday that I'll need another holiday to recover!  Oh to be able to book a holiday, chuck clothes in a suitcase and just go!   

There's a lot to be said for holidaying in your own country and next year, for all I absolutely adore France, I hope we're heading to Cornwall again!

Ignore my moaning.  We will have a fab time and I will love every minute.  And on the plus side, the people who own the holiday house are doing everything they can to help us, so it's not all doom and gloom :)
