Bridging the gap

Bank Holiday Monday brought a flight out to a favourite airfield in a neighbouring county. By road this involves a trip over the QE2 bridge which can be a fraught time with tailbacks and queues ... so the best way to go is by air!
The bridge is a good waypoint for pilots especially in less than ideal flying weather when you need a good fix as to where you are. Today we were untroubled by that and had good flying visibility and the familiar views to me and my partner were also shared by my non-flying sister.
As well as the bridge we have the river winding its way quite happily from our capital city out to sea ... what tales may it have to tell ... we will never know!!
