Visiting Oxna

Think I've taken some summer sunshine back with me to Shetland :)  There has been some showers but mostly a sunny day and warm too when the sun was out :)

Last day of the holidays and woke up a bit tender after last night.  Ended up in Lerwick for a few drinks with friends.
I did finally get out and about and headed out with Brian to check on the boat.  We decided to head out to the isles for a run and went to Hildasay for a walk with Sammy.  As we headed back, we passed Oxna and saw Wilbert Fullerton's boat in and headed in for a look.
A quiet evening for a few hours and then back to work in the pub tonight!  Not looking forward to it but it's pennies for the next holiday :)

We headed into Oxna with the boat to see Wilbert Fullerton.  Unfortunately his wife Christine wasn't here today but he invited us in for a cuppa and chat.  They come out to Oxna for a few weeks during the lambing, must be so peaceful.  The isle was abandoned in 1918 but the house has been cared for since then but no electricity, that's not a bad thing either but I'd miss the internet for doing my Blips :)  Here's Wilbert relaxing with a cup of tea inside the Oxna house :)
