Westminster Mile

Today was Westminster Mile day. 33 waves of runners all running a mile. Runners of all ages and all abilities took part. It was so well organised. Steve Cram started the races until he joined one of the waves himself. I just love events like this where the emphasis is on enjoyment. The little ones always make me smile. Standing there with their parents all so excited before they take off. It started on The Mall and finished outside Buckingham Palace.
Another medal for my collection. Hopefully one more tomorrow.
There was so much going on in Green Park too. A really good, enjoyable family day out. The weather helped as well.
Over in Oz it's my sons birthday. He's had a great day spent with the family there. I found out what the news was and I did guess correctly. My niece who got married in February is having a baby. I can't tell you how happy I am for her. She is such a wonderful girl. she wanted to have a baby quickly so her mum could have a grandchild and she would have her mum with her. It all helps my sister in law fight the battle. As far as my sister in law goes...she's doing well. Still having her weekly chemo treatment. Still hasn't got any hair...but has some great wigs. Still looking good and more importantly feeling good. Fingers crossed this will be the first of a few grandchildren she will know and love.
