Not so Great Glen Way

When you see the full profile of the Great Glen Way, the end of the first day looks quite hilly but the second looks really bad so there was some debate about the second day - to stick with it or find another route. In the end, the misery of the first day won out and we reckoned that a longer, equally hilly route on road would be better than scrabbling up the same old gravel paths. So we ditched the walking route and took the road out of Drumnadrochit and turned towards Beauly climbing 900ft up the Cul Na Kirk but then dropping down to see level over the next 9 miles and then 8 flat miles to Inverness. Joy. Although it did mean hanging around Inverness for 5 hours waiting for the train. Still, could have been much worse. Could have spent 5 hours pushing the bike up and down hills again.

Greg bought Graeme a little something to ease his pain from having the world's hardest saddle.
