Etna from Enna
We spent the morning in Palermo and then tried to catch the midday bus to Enna only to discover that it wasn't running. Our Italian wasn't up to understanding the explanation but it turned out that an elevated section of the autoroute had been damaged by a landslide and the buses were having to make a detour through the mountain roads. It was an exciting journey but the driver of the bus, and the driver of the articulated lorry we met on a hairpin bend, was very professional. As we got to Enna we looked east to this picture postcard scene of Etna.
