Pair of Puss Moths
To celebrate being home again I put out my moth trap last night. It proved to be the best night of the year so far, with 16 different species. Here are two lovely Puss Moths on the fence near the trap. They rarely enter the light trap, but perch nearby after being attracted by the light. Here they are lined up neatly, the larger female in front. They are still there at 8pm this evening, protected from the local birds by a large sheet of plywood leaning against the fence. Once the light drops they will be off.
