Confused?

We walked up to the post office to get stamps for postcards for postcrossings, diverting our route along this track to avoid the nasty dog who was being walked. It's owner is lovely but the dog really doesn't like us. The track as you can see was wonderfully overgrown with grasses and wildflowers and these chickens (or cockerels) who were not pleased we'd started following them! They eventually managed to find a way of escape and we managed to avoid the dog!
I hadn't remembered that the post office is closed on a Wednesday afternoon though but I did buy some more postcards to send all over the world. We'll just have to walk up again tomorrow to get the stamps.

We saw a squirrel scampering up the road on the way back but I was too slow to snap him otherwise he would've been my blip!
I think we may have a woodpecker nest down the track near the old owl box as I've heard baby birds and now noticed some holes in the tree. Very exciting!
It's definitely a Great Spotted Woodpecker nest as I saw an adult visiting this evening. It looks like it has a few holes, maybe decoy ones, as the one it went into was hidden away. Another extra to look at!!

Has anyone else had trouble uploading photos in portrait? Today I had to rotate this photo as it kept coming up on it's side, very bizarre!
