Diary of an Edinburgher

Bailey visits... and takes over!

Today I popped along the road to the GP for my blood test - much handier than going across town to the hospital! And, instead of the test results taking an hour (or usually more), they do a little prick on your finger, put the drop of blood on a gizmo, and - hey presto - the answer is instant! The hospital needs one of those gizmos! These tests will be weekly for a while.

In the afternoon we had our little visitor - Bailey. What fun she and Archie had - playing, playing, playing, then having a wee rest, then playing again. Mostly their energetic boxing matches, but now and again full on charging round the whole house, rugs scattering in their wake... It was such good fun watching them. Bailey is not shy at taking over the place and making herself at home. And she doesn't stand any nonsense from Arch. He's such a patient wee dog, because really, it's his house, and she was on his mat on his sofa...

Bailey's mum took them both up the hill when she came to pick her up, and they had another wonderful doggie time, running around even more, and meeting lots of dogs. Bailey's mum seems to know everyone who goes up the hill.

I took loads of photos, of course, but I loved Archie's expression in this one, like he's trying to force a smile for the camera...

Archie hasn't had a snooze all day! He's propped up beside me on the sofa, but I anticipate the sound of gentle snoring...

And Archie will probably sleep soon too.
