just keep going

Shaw, Breagh and Pip having a wash/swim after getting very muddy this morning (saves hosing). Looks better in big form this picture, I was taken by the mixture of dark cloud and sunshine and green grass and of course the crazy collies swimming in the moody grey loch.

After husband had fixed the wall to the yard the other week some of my naughty ewes had found a new way to get in where the fence was a little lower and they could jump in. However this new entrance meant leaving their poor lambs and the ewes really didn't mind doing that. This morning I decided enough was enough and have reinstated the fence to normal height and patched another potential entrance. I did see some very disappointed ewes waiting at the gate this afternoon!!

Silly calf is still not sooking on the bottle despite hours of effort we get one sook and that is it. Really not sure what to do with him as we cant keep tubing food to his stomach forever. My husband is a very stubborn man but I fear that this calf may out stubborn him in the end and it would be so sad if that happened. It is sooooo disheartening.

Sky man came to fix the self catering cottages sky problems today. In one year the LNB and connecters have completely corroded. Quite normal for the west coast of Scotland and apparently on an wee island not so far away it is 8 months before they need replaced. Anyway it is fixed and that's the main thing.
