Sunday, May 10, 2015 -- Mother's Day

We had a gift card to Polly's Pies restaurant, so late this afternoon when the Mother's Day crowds had diminished, we drove about a mile to our local Polly's.

We had not been there in a long time, so we weren't sure what would be on the menu that would come close to our vegan diet. Their selection did include a veggie burger, which is probably not completely vegan (I think a veggie burger includes a small dose of egg white), but we both ordered one and they were delicious. For dessert we shared a piece of fresh strawberry pie. Gosh was that yummy.

Mother's Day overall was a dud! But I'm fairly convinced that it's mostly a "Hallmark Greeting Card" and florist money making day. For lots of people, it is a reminder that they don't have kids or that their kids are somewhere else -- so a sad day. At least that's what I think.
