Office View
I was representing the Mountain Training Association (MTA) today at the Keswick Mountain Festival- sharing a stand with the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) who I also work for & with - so it was all quite a cosy affair, lots of chat & coffee - though the cake was a bit conspicuously absent!
Quite glad I'd picked the Saturday to climb and the Sunday to stand inside a mini marque and chat to people as it was very cold today with squalls blowing in off Derwent Water. The Festival however certainly benefited from the inclement weather - arriving at 10am it was already packed - and people kept on arriving all day.
I spent the day chatting to the excellent folks at Community Action Nepal about the work they're doing over there and how the funds we've been raising for them will help, answering people's queries about which mountaineering skills course they should go on, speaking to potential association sponsors and generally enjoying seeing a lot of happy outdoors folks - especially the ones who whizzed by on the zip wire that can just be seen running across this blip.
Of course - its easy to have a good time when your office has a view like this!
