Twistleton Scars
Thank you for all the kind comments for yesterday's 500th - they just fly by when you're having this much fun.
With a very mixed forecast today I decided to take the Progression to Rock course East and into the Dales, and it proved to be a good choice as we were treated to a glorious day out.
There was a sharp wind - but where we could find bits of shelter it was a real sun trap up on the scars - though you needed to carry a jacket up to belay on the tops - but it was worth it to sit on the limestone pavements and look out at views like this - choosing a blip for today was difficult (but that's a large part of the challenge #noextrashots!) but in the end, having been unable to capture the orchids at Oxenber earlier in the week I plumped for this - extra points for people not of a Yorkshire persuasion who can name the very iconic hill in the background.
We saw; Early Purple Orchid's, Spotted Orchids, Dog Violets, Campion, Birds Foot Trefoil, Cowslips, Anemones, Wheatears, Wagtails, Buzzards, Swallows - a very good day to be out!
