Swallow that

I woke up to the sound of the burglar alarm going off this morning.  We've been here nearly four years and in all that time it has only gone off three times and only ever internally.  I stuck my head out of the front landing window to hear an alarm going off outside as well.  We've never used it and don't know how to stop it so anticipated twenty minutes of annoying ourselves and the neighbours.  

We saw Paul who lives in the house on the left pass ours going one way and then coming back but he never once glanced our way.  JJ pulled out the fuse which stopped the internal bleep but it was another couple of minutes before the external alarm stopped.  Later in the morning I caught Paul talking to another neighbour from two doors down the road and went out to apologise, only to be told it was the alarm of the neighbour to the right of our house that had gone off.  Very confusing.

I saw some swallows just before we went to Spain but there weren't any when we returned, so they must have been stopping off before heading further north.  Yesterday our regulars appeared and made a beeline for the garage as in previous years so it's a case of keeping them shut.  Unfortunately they have a habit of sneeking in whilst either of the cars is being reversed out or put away.  I caught these two this morning.  Not a good picture, but a reminder.
